New QUITPLAN Services sees jump in participants after re-launch
QUITPLAN Services launched new tools, a new website and easier access for tobacco users in Minnesota on March 3. Since that time, many Minnesotans have responded by signing up for services such as text messaging, email support, starter kits of free patches or gum, downloading quit guides and speaking with a Quit Coach. The new services have been very successful in prompting quit attempts and encouraging more Minnesotans to try to the new tools available to help them quit. In the three months following the launch (March through May) more than 5,400 Minnesotans have received tools and support to help them quit smoking. This number nearly matches the total number of tobacco users who enrolled in QUITPLAN Services during all of 2013. Since originally starting in 2001, QUITPLAN Services has provided support for more than 100,000 Minnesotans and will continue to provide the tools needed to help Minnesotans quit.
