QUITPLAN Services FAQ

Effective April 1, 2020

QUITPLAN® Services has been replaced by a new, free program starting April 1. Quit Partner is now providing free, comprehensive support for any Minnesotan looking to quit commercial tobacco. Anyone interested in the new program can contact 1-800-QUIT-NOW or visit QuitPartnerMN.com.

Quit Partner is a similar program to QUITPLAN Services, including free phone coaching, email and text programs, printed materials, and free nicotine patches, gum or lozenges including starter kits.

Everyone enrolled in QUITPLAN Services before April 1, 2020 will be able to continue and finish their current QUITPLAN Services program.

What does this mean for me?

You will be able to continue and finish your current QUITPLAN Services program, but QUITPLAN Services will no longer accept new enrollments into any of its services starting April 1, 2020.

For example, if you enrolled in telephone counseling through the QUITPLAN Helpline, ordered a starter kit of patches, gum or lozenges, Quit Guide, or signed up for the text program, prior to April 1, 2020, you will still receive these services.

Can I enroll in the new program?

All current QUITPLAN Services participants are eligible to enroll in the new, free Quit Partner program starting April 1.

Will my QUITPLAN Services account roll over automatically into the new program?

No, Quit Partner is a new program and not connected to QUITPLAN Services. You will need to enroll in the new program to begin receiving the new services. You can do so by calling 1-800-QUIT-NOW or visiting QuitPartnerMN.com.

Why is QUITPLAN Services closing/being replaced?

QUITPLAN Services was funded by ClearWay Minnesota℠, an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing commercial tobacco’s harm. The funding for ClearWay Minnesota will be ending in 2021, so all of their programs are closing out. However, free support will still be available to all Minnesotans who would like to quit by calling 1-800-QUIT-NOW, 1-855-DEJELO-YA (335-3569) for Spanish language support or visiting QuitPartnerMN.com starting April 1, 2020.

How do I get more information about the new program?

You can contact Quit Partner at 1-800-QUIT-NOW, 1-855-DEJELO-YA (335-3569) or visit QuitPartnerMN.com. Quit Partner provides similar support to QUITPLAN Services, with free phone coaching, email and text programs, printed materials, and free nicotine patches, gum or lozenges including starter kits.

Do I need health insurance to access Quit Partner?

No, any Minnesota resident can access the new program for support to quit, regardless of health insurance status.

Am I eligible for the new program if I recently used or am currently enrolled in QUITPLAN Services?

Yes, every Minnesota resident is eligible to access to the new program for free support, regardless of whether you have used QUITPLAN Services previously.

What about my friends and family who want to enroll?

Starting April 1, 2020, all Minnesota residents are eligible to enroll in the new program, Quit Partner.
